The Ladakh Buddhist Association Leh Ladakh is a non-political, socio-religious organization dedicated to developing and promoting a social structure based on the Buddha's teachings. These teachings emphasize non-violence, peaceful co-existence, harmony with nature and the environment, and logical and ethical reasoning in addressing life's problems. The ultimate goal is human development as a means of societal transformation.

Inspired by the sublime Dharma and concerned about the future development of their society, the Buddhists of Ladakh have resolved to organize themselves into a powerful unit. This unit aims to achieve effective modern development while adhering to the Buddhist way of life, which emphasizes resilience, tolerance, peaceful co-existence, and appropriate social transformation.

Founded in 1932 by enlightened elders, the Ladakh Buddhist Association is now the apex social institution in Ladakh. Guided by its own constitution, the organization works tirelessly to address the changing needs and challenges of the community. Over the past seven decades, Ladakh and the country have undergone significant changes, resulting in increased challenges for the Buddhist community. Despite these challenges, the LBA remains committed to its mission.
