The Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA)

The Ladakh Buddhist Association Leh Ladakh, is a non-political, socio-religious organization essentially set up to develop and promote a social structure based on the Buddha’s teachings of non-violence, peaceful co-existence, harmonious relationship with nature and environment, logical and ethical reasoning in dealing with every problem of life to focus on human development as a means of societal transformation.
The Buddhists of Ladakh, having been inspired and guided by the sublime Dharma and concerned about the future development of the society as a resilient, progressive, adaptive and forward looking entity, embedded in our social/ cultural ethos, had solemnly resolved to organize our society into a powerful unit for effective modern development through adherence to Buddhist way of life for resilience, tolerance, peaceful co-existence, appropriate social transformation and human development. The Ladakh Buddhist Association, envisioned, conceived and founded by our enlightened elders in 1932, is now the apex social institution guided by a constitution of its own working tirelessly to keep pace with time and to address fresh challenges for the community.
