Shri Kiren Rijiju,Hon’ble Union Minister Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs visited the on- going re-construction of the Chowkhang Vihara in the fore noon of 05/05/2026. Shri Rigzin, architect briefed the Hon’ble Minister about the reconstruction of the Chowkhang. Shri Chering Dorjay requested to consider the release of the funds for the development of the surrounding complex as the project stand submitted to the Minority affairs ministry, GOI by the then Hon’ble HG/UT administration Ladakh

Briefing the press, the Hon’ble Minister committed to fund the project as it is related to both culture, religion and promotion of tourism.
